Please enter your locations and what crops are grown at each one. Then enter the data requested for each crop. You will find an explanation of the terms below the last table.

Explanation of terms:

Product handling
Product handling means all forms of post-harvest product handling in which the product can come into physical contact with other materials or substances. For the ‘Fruit and Vegetables’ subscope, this includes storage, treatment with chemicals, cutting off, washing and rinsing but excludes processing of products.

Product handling does not apply if the product is sold immediately after harvesting with ownership transferring to the buyer.

Product handling does apply if fruit is transported straight to an auction’s cold store after harvesting and sorted several months later but is only charged for when the fruit is sorted.

Under ‘Product handling’ you can select the following fields:
- No
- In Field: product handling in the field (e.g. in-field packing of strawberries in consumer packaging).
- Facility: product handling in a barn or warehouse. This option can also be selected if the product is packed by third parties while still in the grower’s possession.

First harvest and further harvest:
The first harvest is the number of hectares harvested and certified first (in an annual certification cycle).
Further harvest is the number of hectares of the same or another crop harvested and certified from the same field as the first harvest (in the same certification cycle).

Example: A grower grows tomatoes and cucumbers in rotation in a 6 hectare greenhouse. The tomatoes are harvested first: this is the first harvest of 6 hectare. Then two cucumber crops are harvested and certified: this is the further harvest of 12 hectare (6 x 2).

The fee paid to GLOBALG.A.P. is calculated based on the area registered under first harvest. After that, the fee only applies to the crop harvested during the certificate’s year of validity. Material that is not harvested (e.g. young fruit trees or Christmas trees) should be recorded as further harvest.

Parallelle production (PP)
Parallel production is the situation in which a producer produces the same product partly as certified and partly as non-certified. This happens when, for example, a producer grows apples but only part of their production is certified.

Parallel ownership (PO)
Parallel ownership is the situation in which a producer buys non-certified examples of products they grow themselves under certified production. This happens, for example, when a producer who grows their own certified apples buys non-certified apples from another producer.

Exclusion of harvest
Exclusion of harvest applies when, at any time before harvesting starts, the products are no longer owned by the producer and the producer therefore has no control over the harvesting process and has not outsourced these activities. This is also not an activity that the producer outsources.
