GLOBALG.A.P. has announced that a new version (version 6) of the standard will come into force that is more in line with the current times and better meets benchmarking with, for example, GFSI requirements. MPS-ECAS will conduct audits in line with version 6 from 1 January 2024.
Below we provide more information on GLOBALG.A.P. version 6.
- Henceforth, there are two parallel versions of the GLOBALG.A.P. standard: IFA v6 Smart, which is suitable for most companies and IFA v6 GFS for those who need certification with GFSI recognition.
- Smarter, customised checklists are available through the IFA v6 document generator. By answering a number of preliminary questions, only the questions that apply to your company remain visible in the checklist. You can generate a company-specific checklist, which can be used as a document for the internal audit.
- From now on, there is a more results-oriented, impact-driven approach to the standard with, for example, more focus on microbiological hazards.
- It becomes mandatory to draw up continuous improvement plans, e.g. on reducing crop protection agents.
- There are new and updated sustainability criteria on topics such as plastics, waste, CO2 and deforestation.
On the GLOBALG.A.P. website, you can find all relevant documents, including checkpoints and general requirements.
Later on, we will inform you further about the requirements and versions of the updated standard.
