How can you arrange for your company, product or management system to be certified? This requires the completion of a number of steps:

1. Which certificate do you want to obtain?

Check which certificate is relevant to your company and what steps you need to take to meet the requirements.

2. Preparing your company for the audit

In order to become certified, it is important that you prepare your company for a certain guideline. Many scheme owners have a checklist and a detailed certification overview that you can follow. You can find this information on the website of the relevant certificate or add-on. If necessary, you can request assistance from a third party to help you prepare. Once you are ready for the certification audit, MPS-ECAS can perform the audit as an independent third party.

3. The quotation request

You can request a non-binding quotation. A quotation is prepared based on, among other things, the size of the organisation and the number of locations. Within a few working days, you will receive an email notification that the quotation is ready in your Customer Portal. Log in with your email address and password to review this. If you are logging in for the first time, you can create a password by clicking ‘request password’.

Once you have logged in, you will find the quotation under ‘Quotations’. You will be taken to a new browser window where all outstanding offers are ready. Click on the relevant quotation to see the documents. You can also download the quotation on this page. If you agree to the quotation, you can digitally sign the quotation by clicking on ‘Agree quotation’ in the top right corner. If you do not accept the quotation, for example because something is not quite right, you can click ‘Disagree with quotation’. Please state the reason why you do not agree.

4. Scheduling the audit

After signing the quotation, we will approach you to schedule an audit. One of our employees will then work with you to find a suitable time for the auditor to visit. The length of the audit can be found on the quotation.

5. The audit

An MPS-ECAS auditor will visit your company. This is the first, or initial audit. It is important that at least one person is present who has knowledge of the relevant certificate. After the audit, the auditor prepares a report. This report is assessed by a reviewer. If the reviewer is also satisfied that you meet all the standards, we will digitally send you the certificate or attestation of conformity. It is possible that you do not yet meet all the requirements. In that case, we will discuss any shortcomings. If this is the case, you will be given time to take corrective action. If you resolve the shortcomings within the specified period, you will still receive the certificate.

6. Periodic check

After the initial certification has been established, an MPS-ECAS auditor will periodically visit your company to check whether your company, product or management system still meets the requirements. If you still meet all the requirements, the certificate will be extended. In the event of irregularities, sanctions may be imposed.

7. Invoicing

You will receive the invoice after the audit has taken place. The amount of the invoice depends on the number of hours that the auditor has spent at your company and the time it takes to prepare the audit report.
